Dr. Nahed Mohammed Taher Dr. Nahed Mohammed Taher is a Saudi businesswoman who is the founder and CEO of Gulf One Investment Bank, Manamah, Bahrain.
Her objective is to accelerate innovation abilities in the invesment banking and Islamic financial systems. This is done by structuring financial deals for Mega projects and private equity investments in the Gulf region to become a major power in the world.


Dr. Nahed Mohammed Taher got her BS in Economics from King Abdulaziz University in 1987. In 1994 she got MA in International Economics from King Abdulaziz University. In 1998 she obtained her M.Sc. in Financial Economics from University of Lancaster, UK. In 2001she got her Ph.D. from the same university in Monetary Economic.

After her Ph.D. she became an Assistant Professor and Head of Accounting Department at King Abdulaziz University. She published five research papers.

Since December 2005 Dr. Nahed Mohammed Taher is the CEO of Gulf One Investment Bank, Bahrain. She is also Managing Partner of Compass Consulting, Bahrain.

Between April 2002 - October 2005 she worked in the Economics Department, The National Commercial Bank, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, as Senior Strategic Economist & Chairman of Portfolio Management Committee.

Between 1987 - 1997 she was the Co-owner and Financial Advisor of “Bullhide” Company, a Franchise of a USA Tolyurthane Coating (chemical lining) Company, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Between 1993 – 2002 she was Financial Advisor for “Minara”, Support Services Company, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Her professional membeships include: Chairman of Moya water Company, Chairman of Al-Buraq Aviation company, Member of the Supreme Council of Environment in Saudi Arabia, Member of the board in the OECD-MENA region Financial group, International Board member of the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center of Energy (KAPRSAC), Member of Young President Organization (YPO), the Saudi Committee of the Eisenhower Fellowship, Member of the foundation board of IMD University in Switzerland, Member of the board for the Saudi-German business group, Member of the board of Al-Ittifaq Steel Company in Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Nahed Mohammed Taher was ranked as No. 72 of most 100 powerful women in Forbes Magazine 2006, and as no. 25 and 24 top 50 businesswomen in the world by Financial Times in 2009 and 2010 consequtively.
