The
KAU International Advisory Board held its eight meeting, which focused
on international experiences in the field of universities' financial
resources on Saturday 19-20 March 2016 on KAU campus in Jeddah. KAU has
invited elite of the most prominent international academicians and
presidents of universities as well as a group of CEOs and senior
officials of global industrial giants for the membership of its advisory
board.
The meeting was chaired by
the chairman of the advisory board, KAU president Prof. Abdulrahman Al
Youbi who stressed in his opening speech of the meeting that the board
has made important steps towards directing the university to excellence
it focuses in every meeting on a theme of relevancy to the university.
In this meeting, the board examines a theme of paramount relevance as it
is in line with acquiring excellence in higher education, academic
research and community service.
That
is exploring the most suitable methods towards diversifying income and
research financing resources for the sake of Saudi community service.
At the end of second day, a
long meeting was held and attended by KAU vice-presidents and some
specialized faculty members where members of the international advisory
board presented the summary of their findings for discussion and issued
important recommendations.
All participants praised the
organization of the meeting, which is the work of the vice-president for
graduate studies and scientific research, Prof. Adnan bin hamzah Zahid,
general secretary of the board. He delivered the closing speech in
which he thanked the board members for their hard work, strenuous
travel, research contributions and their determination to serve the
board in its best interest.
