Dr. Hee-Beom Lee 
 

Dr. Hee-Beom LeeDr. Hee-Beom LEE joined LG International as an Advisor (Vice Chairman) as of June 1st, 2013. LG, one of the biggest business conglomerate in Korea, has its core businesses across electronics, chemical, telecommunications, energy and trading. Dr. Lee is also serving as the Chairman of Korea Employers Federation since September 2010.

Dr. Lee is co-chairman of the Korea Labor Foundation and member of the Presidential Commission on Economic & Social Development and member of the Presidential Committee on Social Security System. He is a member of the Board of the Sookmyung Women's University and member of the International Advisory Board of the King Abdulaziz Universitv, Saudi Arabia.

He served as the Chairman of STX Heavy Industries until May 2013. He was a Chairman of Korea International Trade Association from 2006 to 2009. He served as the Minister of Commerce, Industry & Energy from 2003 to 2006. He served as a non-excutive member of the Board of ESKOM, South Africa's national power company from 2007 to 2010. In 2003, he was the President of Seoul National University of Technology. He served as Vice Minister of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry & Energy until 2002.
He received ph.D in Business Administration from the Kyunghee University in 2003 and MBA from the George Washington University in 1987. He received honorary Doctorate in Public Administration from the Hoseo University. He majored Electronics Engineering at the Seoul National University in 1971. He is the President of the GWU Alumnai Association in Korea. He is the author of "European Integration", revised in 2007. He was born in 1949 in Andong, Korea. He is married with three children. Dr. Lee's wife is a cellist.
